Curaçao's currency is the Antillian guilder. The (Dutch) guilder was introduced on the Antilles in 1828. In 1940, as a direct result of the war, the Antillian guilder was detached from the Dutch guilder and has since been attached to the United States dollar. The exchange rate is 1 USD = 1,78 ANG. The following coins are in use: - 1, 5, 10 en 25 cent and coins of 1 and 5 guilders The following notes are in use: - 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 guilders Besides the guilder, the US dollar is accepted everywhere although change will often be given in guilders.
